Pettinain Community Council has been in existence for at least 40 years and is an organisation recognized by and supported by South Lanarkshire Council and other statutory bodies as a voice that can represent the Community. 

We receive Council funding to distribute to the community through the South Lanarkshire Microgrant funding, and we try to maintain community spirit through community newsletters or organised events. You can read more about the role of a community council here. Notable achievements of our community council has been helping realise the reinstatement of a bridge over the River Clyde near Pettinain, and achieving better broadband to parts of the village unconnected by fibre.
