Introducing ‘Sustainable Pettinain’

Pettinain Community set up in 2024 a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation called ‘Sustainable Pettinain SCIO’ (SC053698). This has been formed to benefit the community of Pettinain* for the following purposes:
  • To advance community development and rural regeneration through the establishment and operation of schemes of a charitable nature.
  • To provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity available to the public at large with a view to improving their conditions of life.
  • The advancement of environmental protection or improvement by promoting sustainability and biodiversity.

*as defined by the Pettinain Community Council boundaries set by South Lanarkshire Council (the “Community”)

The Sustainable Pettinain SCIO supports community running of Pettinain Village Hall, transferred from South Lanarkshire Council Management on 1st November 2024. This was made financially viable by funding to Sustainable Pettinain from the South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Benefits Fund, drawing on Renewable Energy Funding

Our Hall is available for use by the wider community. More information about this follows, but if you have any queries please get in touch and we would be happy to answer them.
